バンダイビジュアルは2009年2月25日（水）、今春よりオンエアするTVアニメ「真マジンガー 衝撃！Z編 on television」の公式サイトをオープンした。

　 TVアニメ「真マジンガー」は、永井 豪氏の巨大ロボット漫画を題材とする新作。主人公・兜甲児は、祖父の作ったスーパーロボット「マジンガーZ」に搭乗し、スーパーエネルギー・光子力を手に入れて世界征服を企む「Dr.ヘル」と、彼の配下である「あしゅら男爵」「ブロッケン伯爵」が操る機械獣と戦いを繰り広げていく。

　「真マジンガー」の監督・シリーズ構成・脚本は、「機動武闘伝Gガンダム」や「ジャイアントロボ 地球が静止する日」など、“熱いストーリー”を描くことで多くのファンを持つ今川泰宏氏が担当する。
　またキャラクタデザインは、アニメ「銀魂」のキャラクタデザイン・総作画監督などを務める竹内進二氏、マジンガーや機械獣のデザインは、「仮面ライダー電王」や「炎神戦隊ゴーオンジャー」などに参加したバンダイの野中剛氏、音楽は「マツケンサンバII」などの宮川彬良氏、といったベテランスタッフが担当する。

　そして本作品は、永井 豪・ダイナミック企画の原作をベースに、新キャラクタや多数の新設定が追加される。

【STORY】
　ジャパニウム鉱石から採取されるスーパーエネルギー・光子力。その光子力を狙って、世界征服を企むDr.ヘルが光子力研究所に攻め寄せる。
　主人公、兜甲児は、祖父・十蔵の作ったスーパーロボット・マジンガーZに乗り戦うことに。Dr.ヘルは配下のあしゅら男爵、ブロッケン伯爵らとともに、バードス島より発掘された機械の獣・機械獣を操り甲児の前に立ちはだかる。
　最強の金属・超合金Zで作られたマジンガーZとともに激闘の中に身を投じる甲児。だがこの戦いには兜一族とDr.ヘルとの過去の因縁、ミケーネ文明・バードス島の謎、そしてマジンガーZの秘密とは何か、多くの謎を秘め物語は動き始める…。
